Sunset at Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach

Hello my lovely friends, family, and followers! I’m so sorry to have dropped off the grid for the past week, however I unfortunately become quite sick after a couple of days in Bangkok and spent the past 20 hours on an overnight bus and ferry to Koh Samui with no wifi.

Now, I’m finally on an island in the Gulf of Thailand. But before I get ahead of myself, I need to update you on my last few days in Dubai! I’m running a bit behind so bear with me — these posts may not be timely. That said, I will do my best to catch up and make them good!

On the same day after we went to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, we spent one of our lovely, fleeting afternoons in Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. It’s a popular area full of high-end hotels, glossy towers, and picturesque views of both the skyline and the ocean, and we went at just the perfect time of day! The sun was low in the sky creating a golden glow, and as sunset approached, we were able to take some absolutely stunning images.

But let’s not forget the locals. By this, I mean a couple of camels we found walking along the beach, of which Maddy and Nat each had a chance to ride. As for me? I ran alongside trying to capture a good image… and let me tell you, camels may move slowly but their legs are long and I was actually struggling to keep up.

I feel that I’ll always have very fond memories of this evening at the beach. The sand was mostly untouched where we were, and the pastel hues playing around in the sky were absolutely stunning. I could try to describe it more for you… or I could just show you the pictures. A thousand words, right?
